Toilet

The kitten is completely used to a closed cat toilet. Recommended dimensions: at least 50 x 35 x 35 cm.

Recommended sand: Van Cat cementing sand with baby powder or colored.

Recommended toilet: HOP IN

Cat toilet filled with sand 1/3 of the height. It should be cleaned regularly with a special spatula. The kitten must have free access to the toilet around the clock. Until the kitten is completely familiar with the new home, it is recommended to limit the space. It is highly recommended not to change the brand of cat litter during the first few weeks in the new home.

Hygiene

Young Thai kittens are a healthy cat breed, they do not need special eye and ear care (except for preparing for exhibitions). It is recommended to trim the tips of the nails regularly and buy a cat house with nail sharpening posts.

School

The Thai kitten is very curious and active. Carefully check at home - open windows, wiring, chemistry and pharmaceuticals, threads, needles, polyethylene bags, sanitary facilities - these are all sources of increased danger. If the baby does misbehave, gets caught in the curtains or sharpens his nails in an unexpected place, do not shout or wave your hands and do not scare him. Express your frustration in a calm voice and distract him by playing or scratching his nails in the right place. You can scare away the bully with a water jet from the sprinkler, but this can be done when the baby starts to feel safe in its new home. Wait until the kitten gets used to the new home and only then start training, it could be in two weeks. Never punish a kitten long after its done a prank, because it wont understand what its about. You need to play with the kitten so that he develops physically and mentally. Do not play with the kitten with your hands, let him play with toys. If the kitten starts running around in the evening, compensating for daytime sleep, but you have time to sleep, actively play with the kitten, tire him out, then you and the kitten will have a more restful sleep.

 Health

In the new home, the kitten could face new risks, new infections, toxins, injuries and stress. Pay special attention to the kittens health. Increased or decreased temperature, discharge from the eyes or nose, frequent and liquid bowel movements, or no bowel movements at all, painful urination, fatigue, indifference - urgent referral to a veterinarian is required. If you are unable to assess the seriousness of the kittens health condition yourself or are unable to choose a qualified veterinarian, contact the cattery and ask for advice. In case of need, we recommend to contact the ĶENGARAGA VETERINĀRĀ AMBULANCE clinic at Mazā Rencēnu street 2, Riga LV-1035. Sign up for consultations or procedures by calling +371 67 249 137, Recommended veterinarian Yekaterina Akimova.
